Beyond the City Walls: St-Roch Tour

It's time to go off-the-beathen path!

Go off-the-beaten path with my St-Roch Tour!

Why not explore outside the Walls and see what else Quebec City has to offer? Saint-Roch is one of the oldest commercial neighborhoods in Quebec, inhabited since the 1600s. It is considered by many as the Survivor of Quebec City. It went through economical booms, disastrous fires, urban exodus… but its population always found a way to rise from its ashes, roll up its sleeves and adapt to the new challenges. In recent years the City of Quebec and the Commercial Development Corporation have worked together to revitalize the area and turn it into the Hipster center and a Mom and Pop 2.0.

Not Your Typical Quebec City Tour

Along this 2.5 hour walking tour, you’ll learn about the different periods and challenges the area has endured, its eclectic population, and last but not least, the creativity and passion of its business owners, which converted Saint-Roch into Nouvo Saint-Roch (New Saint-Roch)

Why visit St-Roch?

For nearly 30 years, Saint-Roch was considered as the Ugly Duckling of Quebec City. The new business owners had to outdo themselves and think outside the box in order to attract people back to the area. As the Hipster neighborhood of Quebec, it has become the center for the Mom and Pop 2.0 experience, allowing us to revisit old favorites with a modern twist.
